First Look At Samsung’s Ativ S Windows Phone 8 Smartphone

We’re looking forward to seeing what Nokia has in store for Windows Phone next week. But, in the meantime, Microsoft is giving us our first look at Samsung’s Ativ S Windows Phone 8 smartphone announced today.

At first glance, we thought the phone looked like a Galaxy S III, but after looking at these shots from Microsoft’s blog, it looks like something else altogether. It has some impressive specs: a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED Gorilla Glass 2 screen, 1.5Ghz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB or 32GB storage, and a 2300mAh battery — just a bit bigger than the 2100mAh on the Galaxy S III.

It’s not as sleek and good-looking as the Galaxy S III, but it’s striking in its own way. Looks like Nokia definitely has a competitor in this phone. For all the pics, head over to the Microsoft blog. [Microsoft]
