Bloomberg: Nokia To Announce Windows Phone 8 Handsets In September

Bloomberg is reporting that Nokia will announce its new range of Windows Phone 8 devices at the start of September -- with the intention of shipping them in time for the Christmas holidays.

The report cites "a person with knowledge of the matter", who explains that the company plans to announce the new devices -- perhaps unsurprisingly -- during a new roadshow-style Nokia World event, which kicks off on September 5. The report also explains that the same sources believes the devices will be on sale "before the year-end holiday shopping season".

It's not clear exactly when the announcements will be made, or what will be announced, but given the shake-up Nokia managed with the Lumia last year, we could be in for something exciting. [Bloomberg]

    So April 2013 in Australia?

Ain't that the truth. It's one of the many things I do not like about any and all tech companies. Want a phone? look how great it is, I want it, nah you have to wait almost a whole year for it.

Dont worry mate, they will be here - im getting some for testing before december so i assume they will be on the marker before christmas :)

even if they dont, ill still have one, haha :)

Better not be - I've already seen so many people jump on the GS3 bandwagon in the last few months and if they're late to market in AU then I'll be forced to do the same - if a die-hard early adopter of WP7 is ready to move on then I can only imagine what's going to happen to the masses if AU left behind again.

I want WP8 Lumia handsets within 2012 sometime; and Lumia with WP8 and PureView around then, sometime after if necessary. I'm happy with my phone, but I really want to be able to recommend a WP handset to people and I just can't at the moment, knowing it'll NEVER go past WP7.8
