Lots of fireworks went off in the US for the Fourth of July celebrations. But in San Diego a technical fault saw the city’s display — which was supposed to last for 18 mesmerising minutes — go off in just 10 seconds. Oops.
While it was no doubt disappointing on some level, the result is actually spectacular. Short-lived, yes, but those fireworks burn ferociously bright, producing a terrifying but awe-inspiring scene. Fortunately, nobody was hurt as a result of the malfunction. [The Next Web]
