Form Follows Function With These Technicolor Kitchen Knives

Form Follows Function With These Technicolor Kitchen Knives

Here’s a set of knives you wouldn’t want to keep hidden in a kitchen drawer. With colourful rings that both perfectly balance the handle and encase it in a chromatic coat, this set is both a beautiful and functional.

Unfortunately, you can’t buy them yet. They were initially created by Israeli designer Tomer Botner for his final project at Tel Aviv’s Sheknar School of Engineering and Design, and he’s still trying to get the money to mass-produce them.

He used local materials form 17 different suppliers in the area, to make a product that reflected the surrounding culture. The blade and the handle are the two main pieces of the handmade knives, which are crafted with a curved spine, which is a bit different than what chefs in the US typically use. [Cool Hunting]
