75,000-Title DVD Library Is Incredible, And It Can Be All Yours For $55,000

To say that Greg is a film buff is a massive understatement. Over the last seven years, Greg has collected tens of thousands of DVDs, Blu-Rays and CDs to add to his own personal library. The collection is so large that it now barely fits in his Cronulla unit. It’s for this reason that Greg is looking to offload the huge collection to someone else for the paltry sum of $55,000. If you think that’s a lot, you should hear how much he spent on it.

There are over 50,000 DVDs and 3500 Blu-ray discs in this collection, Greg says. He’s not entirely sure that number is correct though, he lost count a few hundred purchases ago.

“It’s become a bit of an obsession,” he admits, adding that most of the titles have been purchased from Amazon properties all over the world.

You’d struggle to find something you didn’t want to watch in there. There’s everything from comedy to drama, crime to animation, exploitation to documentaries and even the odd adult Blu-ray. When I say “odd”, I mean that there are 400 of them.

To help you play all of these titles, Greg is throwing in his Toshiba HD DVD Player (vale HD DVD), a Sony Region A Blu-ray player, $5000 worth of storage racks and $12,000 worth of disc covers and sleeves.

The numbers here just boggle my mind.

Greg is adamant about selling his collection in one piece. He won’t split it up or sell it halfheartedly. He says that he’s already had a few offers, with the highest being $30,000. Ideally, he’d like $55,000. You might think that $55,000 is a lot, but it’s a paltry sum considering he paid around $400,000 to bring the whole collection together over the last decade.

If you’ve got $55,000 spare and want to own one of the most impressive media collections in history, you can find Greg on Gumtree.
