We Now Send Over 400 Million Tweets A Day

According to Twitter CEO Dick Costolo, we now send over 400 million tweets every day. That’s over a quarter of a million every minute, or more than 4,500 every single second. That is an awful lot of people sharing their eating habits.

Perhaps even more interesting, Costolo has also explained that the majority of Twitter users are mobile — and that mobile users are far more active than their desktop equivalents.

That’s something that Twitter must be extremely thankful for. Their ad platform is far better suited to mobile than it is to desktop, so a user base that favours tweeting on the go can only be a good thing when it comes to the company raking in cash. [CNET]
