Samsung's flagship Series 9 notebook series has made the jump up to Ivy Bridge with new 13.3-inch and 15-inch models available from today. I had some hands-on time yesterday with the new Series 9 notebooks. Like their predecessors they're seriously nice-looking notebooks, as well as being appreciably light; the 15-inch model comes in at 1.59kg, while the smaller 13-inch Series 9 weighs a compact 1.16kg. Onboard storage is via a 128GB SSD in either case, with the 15-inch model costing $1899 and the 13-inch $1599. The models I got hands-on time with yesterday were running Windows 7, but they should be eligible for Microsoft's $14.99 Windows 8 upgrade offer.
