It’s The End. But The Moment Has Been Prepared For…

All good things must come to an end, so they say. Today’s my last day as editor of Gizmodo Australia, a journey I started a little under a year ago.

For those who are curious, I’m leaving for purely personal reasons; a private matter that I must attend to has taken priority in my life, as it must. I’ll be lightly freelancing, and you may even see me pop up from time to time here at Giz.

I’m exceptionally grateful to have worked with such a talented team at Allure, including Mark, Angus, Elly and Danny, all of whom have been wonderfully supportive during my time here, and especially over the last two months, which have personally been very tough for me. Gizmodo Australia’s a great editorship to have, and it’s one that I’ve stepped down from with the greatest reluctance.

Still, it is my time to go…

(You knew I’d go out on a Doctor Who reference, right?)

So from tomorrow, a new, freshly regenerated Giz editor takes up the mighty reigns, and I get the fun job of announcing him. From tomorrow, Luke Hopewell will be the new full-time Geek around these parts. Luke’s a razor-sharp gadget fiend, lover of all things motoring and a damned fine journalist to boot. I’m certain that Gizmodo Australia will only go on to newer and greater things under his watch. Over to you, Luke!
