There Is No Tree Of Life But A Networked Web Of Life

RSA Animates takes a look, as only they can do, at our networked world. Manuel Lima, a senior UX designer at Microsoft, discusses the power of networks, how it corresponds to nature and debunks the ‘ol tree of life. It’s a fascinating watch.

Visually, the animation is expertly done with marker and whiteboard (like other RSA videos), and it’s wonderful. Lima gracefully navigates the challenge of mapping an increasingly complex world and makes his whole talk pretty easy to understand. It starts with a tree but ends in a web. Life isn’t as clear cut as if a eats b than b eats c — things in nature are intertwined. So are things on our networks. Watch the video, you might learn a thing or two. [RSA via The High Definite]
