Nokia Lumia 900, Lumia 610 Australia Bound

Who’s got two thumbs and will be trying the Lumia 900 in Sydney next week? This guy! And Alex, too! We’re headed to a Nokia media preview event next Thursday evening, and you know what that means – an Australian release can’t be too far away.

The Lumia 900 (pictured above) is the Windows Phone many have been waiting for. If it keeps 4G support here in Australia, it’ll be strong competition against Telstra’s HTC Titan II 4G Windows Phone.

The Lumia 900 boasts a 4.3-inch AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass, 8MP camera, 1.4GHz processor, 512MB RAM/ROM, 16GB memory and built-in FM radio. No word yet on Australian carriers or details, but you can read the Lumia 900 review from Giz US (expect a local write-up as soon as possible).

Announced at Mobile World Congress earlier in this year, the Lumia 610 has a 3.7-inch display and looks more like the budget-friendly Lumia 710 (review) than the Lumia 800 (review) or 900. The main point of difference will likely be its NFC feature — the first Windows Phone with the near-field communications

Will we see Tango or Apollo in action? We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
