The dawn of electric motoring is taking a little longer to gain traction than many hoped. But when it does, this is how we should be using the old pumps: repurposed as dog houses, amplifiers, bookshelves and coffee machines.

These pumps are, in fact, part of an art installation commissioned by Nissan to celebrate the launch of the all-electric Nissan Leaf in Australia.
