Kids’ Re-Enactment Of ‘Sabotage’ Is A Fantastic Tribute To MCA

Everything about this clip is wonderful. As we mourn the loss of Adam “MCA” Yauch, Portland dad James Winters gathered his kids and his nephew to pay tribute to the late Beastie Boy with this recreation of the music video for “Sabotage”.

The video for the original song — the first single off the Beasties’ 1994 album Ill Communication — was directed by Spike Jonze. This visual component of the rap/rock track is a parody of ’70s police dramas like Starsky and Hutch and Hawaii Five-O. The Brooklyn trio plays various fictional characters, most of which sport the vintage porn ‘stache. MCA is billed as “Sir Stewart Wallace guest-starring as himself” and “Nathan Wind as Cochese”.

Yauch died of cancer on May 4 at the age of 47. This tribute is a fitting one for the rapper who, as “Sabotage” and other videos show, never took himself too seriously. [Gawker]
