Asus PadFone Slated To Hit Australia In August

The 4.3-inch PadFone goes one step further than the 5.3-inch Galaxy Note ‘phablet’ by docking into a 10.1-inch station to became an actual slate device. We’ve been tracking its progress for a year now, and with the Computex Asia tech show weeks away, you’ll soon see a lot more of it. New this week: Finally a decent PadFone close-up video (after the jump), and an Australian window: Q3; likely mid-to-late August.

The 4.3-inch AMOLED phone screen has a 960x540 resolution, while the 10.1-inch station supports 1280x800. Both displays use scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass. Other vital stats include Android 4.0, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 16/32GB storage, Micro-SD card slot, and HSPA+ data (no 4G). No word yet on pricing. [Asus Global]

Forget about the Padfone , I've already got a GNex. When are we getting the Pad Infinity?!?

    +1 Bring on the Infinity!

Not that the Padfone isn't cool. It is. But I'm waiting for a Padfone Infinity..... :D

Looks like this will be an import job then considering it's already available in Taiwan...

I gave up waiting for this and got myself a RAZR

I like the idea of this, but isnt it a bit of a waste shoving the phone in the back of the machine? I't would be awesome if the phone slotted into the front where the trackpad is and could be used as the trackpad, as well as a smaller interactive display...

Any idea which networks will be able to use it
