Living In An Abandoned Auto Factory

Some people take pride in the huge gardens or expansive rooftop decks they have at home. Alan Hill of Detroit, Michigan? He lives in an abandoned automobile factory. And he’s every bit as happy with his home as they are.

This short doc by David Usui and Ben Wu of Lost and Found Films features striking images of Hill and his haunting industrial estate. But Mr. Hill has a wonderful affinity for his home, which comes out in his gentle and spirited demeanor. [Vimeo via The Atlantic]
