Vintage Swiss Army Torches Look As Good As The Day They Were Never Used

It’s dim, it gets hot, and it will probably chew through batteries faster than an electric car. But damn this vintage Swiss Army torch dating back to the ’50s and ’60s is a lovely piece of hardware.

As the story goes, a cache of the decommissioned torches were recently discovered in Switzerland. And one can now be yours for a mere $US35. Compared to today’s torches it’s probably not worth keeping in your glovebox for emergencies. Even with a set of sliding red or green signal filters, and the ability to send messages in morse code using the push button on/off switch. But as a retro collectible, this has hipster bike adornment written all over it. [Abodeon via bookofjoe]
