This Circuit Board Lamp Loves To Expose Itself

French designer Matali Crasset created this hanging Court Circuit lamp that embraces its function as its form. It’s made from raw undisguised circuit boards embedded with LEDs, but since they’re arranged like petals on a blooming flower, there’s still an organic feel to its design.

To ensure the lamp casts its glow across an entire room — and not just downwards onto a table — the circuit board petals have all been perforated with tiny holes, allowing the light from the 90 LEDs to shine through both sides. And while the Court Circuit lamp is currently being shown at the design show in Milan at the moment, it should actually be available for sale at some point, and even available in three different colours including dark green, black and grey. Cheerful.
