Telstra’s 4G Wi-Fi Hotspot Launches at $299

We knew it was coming “soon”, and “soon” turns out to be “today” if you’re a business customer, and next Tuesday for consumers.

The 4G Wi-Fi hotspot — officially the Telstra Mobile Wi-Fi 4G, although some site documentation still refers to it as the “Ultimate Mobile Wi-Fi” — is available today for business customers on a $29.95/$39.95 plan with $99 device payment, or free on $49.95/$89.95 plans; it’s also available outright for $299.

I’m a noted fan of Wi-Fi hotspots, and a 4G hotspot is particularly appealing; in effect pair this with any tablet, and it’ll become a 4G-capable tablet. It certainly puts an interesting spin on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 4G’s pricing. [Telstra]
