NBN’s New System Could Cut Activation Times

A new system being trialled this weekend could see NBN activation times drastically cut down, making it not only a fast network — but also a fast network to activate connections.

ITNews reports on the move, which will see NBN Co invite ISPs to test NBN’s new B2B interface, which allows for the automatic testing of an address to match it to available NBN services. Currently, that’s a process that has to be done manually, meaning that NBN provision can take between two and 21 days. The new system is hoped to radically change that provisioning time. [ITNews]
