Korg’s New MicroKey Keyboards Connect Directly To The iPad

Korg’s USB-friendly MicroKey keyboards are desired for their ability to quickly interface with MIDI software on Macs and PCs. But now they have a new trick: they can also link up with iPad apps, providing yet another way to harness the tablet’s power.

SlashGear says there are 25-key, 37-key and 61-key models of the MicroKey, and they work with apps such as Korg’s iMS-20 app, which, up until now, has existed as a purely soft-synthesiser. That companies are creating compatible pieces of hardware only legitimises the iPad’s capabilities as a music maker, which is proving as versatile as it is powerful. Pricing and availability are still unknown, but that info will probably arrive sooner rather than later. [SlashGear]
