The Ultimate Burger Inventor Cooks His Creation On Kimmel

The search for the ultimate hamburger has ended on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Unfortunately, you probably can’t test this one out yourself, and you won’t find it at any restaurant.

Last night, Jimmy was paid a visit by former Microsoft Chief Technology Officer and current heavy cookbook author, Nathan Myhrvold. The pair demonstrated how to make a burger with a sous-vide machine, liquid nitrogen and a hot oil bath.

The result is visually quite impressive; a perfectly medium-rare interior, with a crispy “sear” on the outside. Kimmel proclaims the burger to be cold yet tasty. Of course, there are other factors that go into creating the ultimate burger. Seasoning, quality of meat, bun and toppings are all part of the equation. But this demo certainly has me wanting to know where to score some liquid nitrogen in a hurry. [Jimmy Kimmel Live]
