Patent Hints At Canon Mirrorless Camera

It has long been seen as a matter of when, not if, Canon will come out with a mirrorless camera to complete with models from the likes of Fuji, Nikon and Sony. A small tip toward that inevitability has been revealed in a patent detailing a kit lens meant for a mirrorless camera possibly containing an APS-C sensor.

The patent was uncovered by the Japanese website Egami. The lens sports an 18-45mm focal length and a rather slow f/3.5-5.6 aperture, all the markings of a lowly kit lens. But if it means a mirrorless camera that I can use my quality Canon glass on (with features intact), then bring it right on. [Egami via Mirrorless Rumors]
