LG Optimus 4X HD, HTC One X Break MWC Cover

Either there’s something huge planned for MWC and everybody’s rushing to not get swept away from it, or mobile phone companies are really impatient and/or bad at keeping secrets. LG’s announced yet another handset, while a press image of an HTC phone due for MWC release has leaked out.

On LG’s side, fresh off unveiling the Optimus 3D Max the new phone is the Optimus 4X HD, an NVIDIA Tegra 3 1.5GHz quad core processor beast with a 4.7 inch IPS display, Ice Cream Sandwich and 16GB of onboard memory. The press release also suggests it has an ‘800 pixels’ rear camera; I’m going to assume that’s a mis-translation and we’re actually staring down the lens of an 8MP camera.

HTC has been slightly quieter; no official release for the HTC One X, just this press render. It’s suggested that this is the model that was variously the HTC Edge or HTC Endeavour; another 4.7 inch Ice Cream Sandwich phone. All I can really tell from looking at that screenshot is that it really, really looks like an HTC phone — not just the inclusion of the near-obligatory Sense UI, but even just the way the corners have been rounded.
