Josh Ritter: Love Is Making Its Way Back Home

This beautiful stop-motion animation is the video to Josh Ritter’s new song Love Is Making Its Way Back Home. It’s an enchanting track, but what really grabs you is the accompanying footage, made using over 12,000 pieces of individually cut paper.

It took a team of 20 artists, editors and assistants to make the video. The process was a long one, seeing the concept progress from storyboarding, through computer animation, conversion of the digital graphics into laser-cut paper form, and finally the stop-motion animation itself. In total, the video uses 12,000 laser-cut pieces of construction paper.

There’s a great, in-depth description of how the video was made over on Josh Ritter’s blog. [Josh Ritter]
