Famous Pictures Recreated Using Packing Tape

Packing tape is just hateful stuff that stands in the way of getting into exciting packages, right? Not if you’re Max Zorn, a Dutch street artist who uses the stuff to create stunningly intricate recreations of pop figures and classic paintings.

It’s amazing how the layering of the tape can be used to create such beautifully coloured pieces, reminiscent of sepia photography prints. In many cases, the works are positioned on or near street lamps, so that their glow passes through the tape in order to bring the images to life.

While Zorn’s work has appeared across the streets of Europe, his website, which brings together his pieces and explains how he creates them, is well worth looking at. [Max Zorn via Design Taxi]
