Kazuo Hirai Not To Head Sony After All?

Yesterday, major Japanese paper Nikkei reported that current PlayStation boss Kazuo Hirai would, come April this year, be handed the keys to Sony. Turns out this might not actually be the case, with the company now refuting the story.

According to PC World, Sony’s statement denouncing Hirai’s promotion was “terse” and made it clear the company has yet to put out an “official announcement or decision” regarding the CEO position.

Hopefully this won’t turn into a confusing debacle like the one that surrounded the supposed retiring of Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto, a report Nintendo was quick to deny.
