A couple of Northern Territory girls are today learning a valuable lesson - if you steal a phone and then use it to call police after you get lost, you will end up getting arrested.
The girls allegedly broke into a car in Katherine in the NT, found the owner's house keys, which they used to enter his house and steal his car keys, wallet and phone. After an undisclosed period of joyriding the girls crashed the car, and unsure of their location, decided to call police on the stolen phone. They used a tracking application called "Where Are You" to help police find them.
Naturally, the girls were taken into custody.
Let this be a lesson to you kids: Crime doesn't pay, especially when you call the police yourselves.
