The Ultimate Tardis DVD Shelf For Doctor Who Fans

My parents were super supportive of me growing up (and today), but my dad never built me a Tardis DVD cabinet. I feel cheated!

The RPF Forum member MsMuse101 posted the pics of the finished product her father built on the forum. Sadly, she didn’t take any pictures of the project while it was being constructed, so DIYers will have to start from scratch, but the idea is brilliant and the execution unbelievable.

The best part is that it was done with eBay purchases and wood offcuts:

We looked at having the sign (plastic bit) made but just before we started making inquiries i noticed they were selling on eBay which helped lots. we then boxed it into a frame and put a small light tube in the back of the box, simple really. The case happened to be going over a wall socket anyway so we just wired it through the back of the case, which is great cause it’s hidden from sight.

The whole thing cost around £100 – £150 to make as our garage is FULL of offcuts of wood, all the money went on the signs, handles, lock and light really.

If there were a Gizmodo Award for awesome dad, I’d give it to the guy who built this for his daughter…
