Report: Microsoft And Nokia Also Flirted With RIM


O, Canada! On the heels of yesterday’s report that Amazon got a little tipsy and tried to take a peek up RIM’s skirt last summer comes the WSJ’s news that both Microsoft and Nokia thought about buying the beleaguered BlackBerry maker. Sheesh, RIM, people are gonna start talking.

There’s no word on whether the talks are still proceeding or how far they got, but one thing is clear: RIM’s sending up serious distress flares. And while its potential partners — or competitors — would be fools not to take the chance to comb through the company’s books, the impression right now is that RIM doesn’t have the kind of booty that people want to loot.
