The creation of stars is a violent process that produces intense heat and radiation. It also produces incredibly beautiful images.
Found in the centre of the star-forming 30 Doradius region near the Milky Way, the Tarantula Nebula’s brilliant colours are a combination of X-ray and infrared images of the multimillion-degree gases shown in blue and the cooler gas and dust shown in orange. The region is expanding so check back in a couple million years for images that will really blow your mind. [NASA]
