Nook Tablet Is Better Than Kindle Fire (But Only If You’re Clumsy)

Prone to dropping your electronics? Watch this pair of awkwardly dressed tech journalists dropping tablets onto concrete. Yes, it’s annoying. Yes, it’s waste. No, it’s not actually journalism. But it does turn out that the Nook Tablet is best if you’re a klutz.

All that said, both the Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet cope just fine being dropped on carpet. Face-first onto concrete, however, and the fact that the Fire’s glass screen stretches to its edges means the whole face shatters. Not so for the Nook: its slightly ugly plastic bezel saves it during impact.

I’m not entirely sure that piece of advice was worth wasting $US200 of Kindle for, but, hey, at least it’s been immortalised on YouTube. [GizmoSlip via TechCrunch]
