Mil-Spec Backpack For The Terrors Of Mass Transit

Maybe it’s not too surprising that sometimes the most hardcore combat-ready gear is also the most unassuming. A flamboyantly accoutred military operative might call attention to themselves. Take for example the mil-spec Lexdray Tokyo Pack.

The Tokyo Pack might not be bound for the battlefield, but it’s definitely ready for whatever you encounter on the front lines of urban warfare. Behind the classic, plain exterior is a tank of a rucksack — check out the newly released video detailing the bag’s sound construction. It’s made of tough ballistic nylon with a hidden waterproof cover in case the weather goes south. In true utilitarian style, the bag has nine exterior pockets and six interior pockets — some snap, some zip — and since it’s made for the city, it has a fleece sleeve for a 15-inch laptop. Rugged. With the $US460 price tag and a limited run of 550 bags, don’t count on seeing the Tokyo Pack on too many shoulders. Apparently this one’s only for the most elite urban commandos. [Lexdray]
