Get Ready For A Massive Orgy Of Ultrabooks In 2012

Looks like ultrabooks are the new tablets. Sort of. Remember when CES in 2011 was the show of a zillion slates? CES 2012 could see as many as 50 super-thin, Intel-powered ultrabooks. Wanna take a Scrooge McDuck dive in an ultrabook pool?

The Consumer Electronics Association’s (CEA) director of research for show organisers, Shawn DuBravac, recently went on record at a London event. “We expect to see 30 to 50 new ultrabooks launched at CES.” Considering we’ve only seen a handful of Ultrabooks thus far, that’s going to be one ultra-thin clusterflock. Then again we saw more than 100 tablets launch at CES last year, and how many of those are still winning our hearts and minds and money? [PC Pro]
