I’ve never been to Iceland. Had never planned to visit, really, until I saw this stunning time-lapse of the land of the midnight sun. Now I’m dreaming of having my morning coffee on sun-kissed ice block this side of nowhere.
Joe Capra has amassed 38,000 images here, showing off 4668km of the most beautiful place on earth. His Icelandic tour, in June of this year, couldn’t have come at a better time; there’s a period about the Arctic Circle when the sun never sets. Instead, it stays permanently fixed to the horizon, swaying slightly back and forth, a perpetual sunset that casts the world in a light that, as you can see here, is positively brilliant.
