Stars And Telescopes Spin Beautifully

Long exposure photos of stars at night are nice, but when you add the telescopes that study those stars, they become and incredible mixture of nature and man-made objects.

This photo was created by combining 450 individual 20-second exposure photos over a two-hour period. The buildings you see are part of the Very Large Telescope — real name — in Chile’s Atacama Desert. The telescopes rotate throughout the night as they track stars.
