Babies might not be able to give you the live long and prosper salute, but every geek parent knows it’s never too early to indoctrinate your kids into the world of Star Trek.
Until replicators and transporters can beam the food directly into their bellies, the messy task of feeding an infant is at least made a little more retro futuristic with this $US25 Star Trek-inspired feeding set from ThinkGeek. The bib is adorned with Star Fleet Space Dock and Klingon Battlecruiser graphics, which come to life with motion-activated blinking LEDs. But the real star of the show is the removable spoon integrated into a miniature model of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701, complete with blinking LED nacelles to get your little ensign’s attention.
