I think this is the best thing I've seen today. Possibly for some time. Some images speak for themselves. This one pretty much just says "Wow". It's mesmerising. OK, this does need some explanation. It's a photo NASA's taken over the southern hemisphere depicting the Aurora Australis floating over Antarctica. Although I can't help but think that if an alien invasion fleet wanted to take out 90 per cent of the population of Australia, that's pretty much the formation they'd form up into.
