Alien Dalvik Shows How To Run Android Apps On iPad

This is one of those Ghostbusters “Cats & Dogs Living Together” moments — except in this case it’s iOS and Android living together on the same hardware. We’ve known about the capabilities of Alien Dalvik for a while now, but this video shows it running Android apps on an iPad.

Engadget got a hands on demonstration of Alien Dalvik running on an iPad. Running is a somewhat subjective term, given it’s a client connecting to a cloud server that’s actually running the underlying Android code. That’s the primary reason why there’s so much input lag, but could (in theory) mean that Apple approves it — after all, it’s not like it’s actually running Android code on the iPad itself. Although I wouldn’t put my own money on it making it past the App approval process. [Engadget]
