This Jacket Catches and Purifies Rain Water

RainCatch is more than just a jacket. And It’s more than a water purifier. It’s a piece of a future that only exists in movies and comics, except that it’s in the here and now.

Looking like something that would have made sense in Blade Runner or Trigun, RainCatch is as much an exercise in resourcefulness as fashion. Designed by two students at the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design, water is collected in the collar of the jacket, routed down to charcol filters housed in the back area, then pumped through suction tubes into the wearer’s mouth.

Saying I want one is an understatement. [CIID via PC World]
