Use A Fake Wall To Create A Clean Charging Station

Here’s a simple DIY project from Kitesurfer that’ll let you charge your devices without the distracting clutter of power strips and wall worts.

The mod uses a single cubby in an IKEA bookcase as a charging station. To keep a clean appearance, Kitesurfer shoved all the unsightly chargers and power strips behind a fake wall constructed from a remnant piece of white board.

To liven up the charging cubby, he gutted a digital picture frame and inserted it in the middle of this fake wall. The picture frame displays a battery charging icon, but wouldn’t it be great if you could display photos from your phone or even the actual charging status of your device. Any other ideas to create a charging station that’s functional and pleasing to the eye? [Kitesurfer via hackaday]
