Marc Saporta’s novel Composition No. 1 is a non-linear work, meaning it was written with the intent of being read in any order. But the novel’s iPad iteration takes the concept to a whole new level with its shuffle feature.
When you launch the app, according to Co.Design, it begins rotating through the book’s pages faster than you can keep up with. You can stop the madness at any point by placing a finger on the screen. But the second you let up, it begins shuffling again.
Some may want to write this off as gimmicky, but it’s a feature that actually enhances the intended experience and can’t (easily) be replicated with a physical copy. [Composition No. 1 via Co.Design]
