The World Trade Center Was A Hollywood Star

Before their destruction, the two towers of the World Trade Center were immortalised in film. They were iconic as sets, backdrops, or giant ape toys — massive creations synonymous with the concrete below. Dan Meth’s montage is a wonderful tribute.

The video takes slices of the film’s appearances in films between 1969 and 2001 — often just appearing ever so slightly in the background. That monoliths as beloved and emotionally wrenching as the towers were often just the slightest blip in a scene seems impossible. [Dan Meth via Laughing Squid]
