Stanford University’s Jure Leskovec knows more about than you think. With the right tools and information, the computer scientist can predict the next person you will friend on Facebook.
Leskovec picks this lucky person by compiling and analysing all your online social activity. Tweets, retweets, friends and likes, he looks at them all. With about 50% accuracy, he can predict the people who will make their way to your friends list.
50/50 odds may not sound that great, but this social research tool is still in its infancy. Give it a year and improvements could lift it to an accuracy level that’ll creep you out. [IT World]
