PlayStation Vita Will Have Support For Skype And Foursquare

Over at the Gamescom conference in Cologne, Germany, Sony just stated that they will incorporate both Skype and Foursquare into your new PlayStation Vita come early 2012. They were cagey with specifics, but this is a good thing for the console.

The additions bring the Vita, with it’s beautiful OLED touchscreen and 3G option, more in line with tablets while putting it that much further ahead of the languishing 3DS. And it can already do some of what the forthcoming Wii U can do. Now it’s up to publishers to take advantage of the capabilities. Video chat? Hell yes. Check-ins and tips? Quirky, but I can see fun things happening with the idea. [TechCrunch]
