Microsoft Teases And Previews A Quad-Core Windows Slate

During Microsoft TechEd 2011 in New Zealand, Microsoft showed off something verrrry interesting: a quad-core Windows slate. Reports are unsure if it runs Windows 7 or Windows 8 but more info is supposed to be revealed soon.

According to ZDNet, the quad-core Windows slate will be showcased in full at the upcoming Microsoft Build Conference in September. That’s expected to be a Windows 8-centric event so it’d make sense for that punch packing slate to be at least Windows 8 ready, right? Maybe I’m reaching. Anyway, there are whispers that the quad-core tablet could be the giveaway item/prototype slate to developers at Build. Maybe Microsoft tablets won’t take forever and a decade to get here.
