When you put yourself out there with a single serving site dedicated to getting yourself hired, you have to be prepared for blowback. Matthew Epstein created Google Please Hire Me to score a job. Google, please, don’t hire this guy.
The site’s conceptually clever. He’s ripped off enough of Google’s branding elements that you might think it’s an actual GOOG production. But that’s where it ends. The execution is terrible. It’s riddled with lousy jokes about the $US6 million man, and tired moustache sight gags. The audio levels are terrible, and the entire thing is a Wes Anderson-esque tweefest. If there’s one thing Google doesn’t need any more of in its marketing, it’s twee.
Kudos for your stones, Mr Epstein. But if you want to be in marketing, you have to execute. Coffee is for closers.
