All Those New BlackBerrys? They’re Already Old Hat

Adding to yesterday’s five handsets, RIM’s got two more BlackBerrys for 2011 according to their MD of global sales and regional marketing, but as to whether they’ll use the PlayBook’s QNX OS remains to be seen.

Patrick Spence, speaking to The Guardian, commented that the three handsets launched yesterday won’t ever be able to play Flash content, as “you need dual-core processors to render Flash in the way that we would want to do it. The processing power isn’t there yet.” Bottom-line: if you really must buy a new BlackBerry, do try and hold out for the QNX models, wontcha? The PlayBook may have it flaws, but it bodes well for future BlackBerry phones. [The Guardian]
