Twitter May Soon Flag Tweets With NSFW Content

Twitter could soon flag tweets containing links to inappropriate content with a NSFW designation.

There’s a new field in the API designated “possibly_sensitive” that will appear when any tweet contains a link. Right now this field does nothing, but in the future, it could tag tweets with potentially offensive images and video links.

Twitter users would then have a global option in their account to hide or display this NSFW media. Twitter representative Carolyn Penner claims this change will give people control over their account and won’t be used to censor content. [Twitter and TechCrunch]
