Microsoft tablets are keyboard-less notebooks that run a full version of Windows; not some oversized smartphone. This strategy hasn’t worked so well in the past, but the company is trying one more time with Windows 8.

At a recent Worldwide Partner Conference, Microsoft showed off a sleek-looking Windows 8 concept tablet rocking a Windows Phone-inspired Metro UI. While nobody seemed to get any substantial hands-on time with the device, it was functional enough to make some go “ooh” and “aah”. [BGR]
