Besides its aluminium body and USB 3.0 ports, the Gateway ID47 laptop will attract eyes because of its display. Similar to LG’s laptop, Gateway stretched and thinned the ID47 bezel to fit a 14-inch screen where a 13.3-inch display would normally reside.
Additionally, the ID47 has a 2.3GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB RAM, Dolby Home Theatre audio, multitouch trackpad, HDMI-out and a 500GB HDD. It comes complete with capacitive touch media keys and is only 1.13 inches at its thickest point. The ID47 can be had now for $US700.
Gateway is also releasing their entertainment-centric NV55 Laptop, which features the AMD Llano APU running in the Fusion chipset, a 15.6-inch display, 6GB of RAM, USB 3.0 ports, AMD Radeon HD 6620G Graphics and a 640GB HDD. You can also snatch up the NV55 today for $US630.
