Apple TV Will Get Bluetooth (And Maybe Apps) With iOS 5

Code pulled from the latest iOS 5 beta shows that Apple TV will support Bluetooth keyboards and accessories. Which is cool, I guess. But what that means to you is that your Apple TV might be running apps soon.

It’s not a lock, but it does seem natural that bluetooth support would imply the addition of apps and web browsing, rather than just fancy new ways to browse through your media. And since Apple TV has AirPlay, app support would let you take advantage of all those AirPlay-friendly apps out there. Apps beyond the hardcoded Netflix and MLB.tv offerings had been rumored for the platform, but they’ve yet to turn up. If they do with iOS 5, it would go a long way to Apple catching up to Google’s TV platform. [9to5mac]
